Bear Oaks Cabin Posted: Oct 26, 2023 This is the 3rd time I've stayed in this cabin and it now feels like home when I walk in the front door. It's always clean and I love that it's so conveniently located. Thev fireplace makes it extra cozy in the chilly months. My daughters and their families always stay in the other 2 cabins and we always plan the same week so we are all together yet have our own private cabins. It's nice to be able to cook a meal and not have to bring pots, pans and utensils. The sunrise and sunsets are beautiful and I never get tired of looking at the mountains. Our Home Away From Home Posted: Jan 14, 2022 Our family normally does a single vacation in Myrtle Beach every year. However, when COVID hit in 2020, we were looking for an isolated vacation spot close to our home in Southern Maryland. We came across this place and visited the first time in July of 2020 instead of Myrtle Beach. Since then, we have visited this cabin (4) times and it has become a fantastic home away from home. The owners are great and the cabin is well maintained and clean. The beds are comfortable and the hot tub and fireplace are always well maintained. The cabin has everything you need cooking wise and is perfect for a family of 4-6 people. There are plenty of places to go with beautiful scenery and great places to eat. Wonderful time, beautiful cabin Posted: Jan 7, 2022 We had a wonderful New Year's stay at Country Time. The cabin was comfortable, very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Close to all the Caverns and, of course, Shenandoah NP and Skyline Drive. The only suggestion I have is installing a handicap bar in the bathroom to make it easier to exit the tub over the lip of the sliding tub doors. We definitely will stay at the cabins again though. We stayed at Bear two summers ago and it was lovely too. Luray is lovely and, living on the ESVA, we get our mountain fix. Cozy & Perfect Little Country Time Cabin for our Fantastic Shenandoah National Park Adventure Posted: Oct 3, 2021 We had a wonderful stay for my birthday at Country Time Cabin by Luray Country Cabins! It is private and wooded with beautiful valley, mountain, and farm views. Secluded enough to really get away, but conveniently located close to a few grocery stores, next to attractions like Luray Caverns and Luray Zoo (highly recommend both for a unique, kid-friendly experience), and of course, SNP, Shenandoah River, & George Washington/Jefferson National Forests. After two long days of hiking, it was so nice to come back to this cozy little cabin to grill out for dinner and relax in the big hot tub surrounded by nature and that incredible starlit canopy above! We comfortably fit 3 adults & 2 kids and the cabin was supplied with everything we needed for a stress-free vacation. Wifi worked beautifully, cabin was clean, property was quiet. Everything a mountain cabin should be! 10/10 highly recommend! Mrs. Shenk, the owner, was fabulous to work with when booking. We will surely be back, thank you!!!!! An weekend escape Posted: Aug 27, 2021 We stayed at Bear Oaks for a wedding over at Stover Hall. The cabin was absolutely lovely! Larger and nicer even then the pictures. The kitchen was very well fitted out, and the space worked perfectly for our group of 4. The view from the back patio and hot tub was lovely-there was a full moon during our stay and you could see it clearly across the fields. If we are back in the Luray area, we will definitely come back to Bear Oaks! One comment--the cabin is off a very small gravel road. Make sure you follow the directions they provide, NOT your GPS! Bear Oaks June 2021 Posted: Jun 8, 2021 My wife and I took our 3 year old and 8 month old to Luray for a quick getaway. We were looking for a single family style lodging so no one would be bothered by potential late night crying from the baby. Bear Oaks cabin was the perfect place. The cabin was clean and relatively new (built in 2016 I believe). It’s located right next to a local airport but there was almost no activity and the few planes we saw created very little noise, certainly not enough to disrupt our sleep. Bear oaks Posted: Apr 30, 2021 We had a great time! Only a few small issues. The kitchen faucet is broken, it only sprays. Also, the coffee pot was broken so we had to use the faberware keurig. Finally, the gnats were horrible outside. I know there isn’t much to be done about those but mini tiki torch candles would be excellent on the back picnic table. Over all we had a wonderful weekend! Manager Response: We will look into the kitchen faucet and get it taken care of. Not sure why you didn't let us know about the 12 cup coffee pot as we have new ones on hand for this reason. Sorry about the knats but there was a large bug candle left in the kitchen. Please consider us again in the future.

Cozy Cabin in Great Location Posted: Apr 11, 2021 We really enjoyed our stay at Country Time Cabin. The location was great, as was the space. The cabin is just so warm and welcoming. It was a great home base for all we were doing in our trip. The only downside was that the downstairs bed squeaked with every movement and the mattress seemed to dip in the middle, so we felt like we were rolling towards the center all night. Amazing Christmas Cabin Posted: Dec 25, 2020 This cabin was perfect for our Christmas getaway! The location is super close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. We actually went to both and had an amazing time. There’s a Walmart and Food Lion down the road and the kitchen is more than fully stocked for cooking. The beds are warm and the fireplace is super cozy. We watched Christmas movies every evening! The fire pit was perfect for s’mores and the jacuzzi in the upstairs bathroom a great place to warm up! I would recommend this cabin for a getaway that isn’t too far from civilization but still has that country feeling. And best of all our furry friend was welcome too!! Wonderful getaway cabin Posted: Oct 30, 2020 We visited the area to go to Shenandoah National Park to see the beautiful fall foliage. We enjoyed the park but we also enjoyed coming home to our cabin. The kitchen was equipped nicely. We even decided to cook in one evening & had all the pots, pans & dishes needed. We had a beautiful fire one evening in the fire ring. There were roasting forks provided so we enjoyed some s’mores. The beds were comfortable. We brought our own linens but there were plenty of blankets & pillows. I would highly recommend booking this cabin. On the way home we wondered if there was a past guest journal. We did not see it if there was. We always enjoy reading what past guests have written about their stay. If we are ever in the area again, we will look into a return stay. Beautiful and Relaxing Posted: Oct 9, 2020 We had a fantastic time at Deer Country Log Cabin. It was our third time staying there and it's the perfect getaway for our family of four. For us, the many hiking trails that are a short drive away and the beautiful scenery are what keep us coming back. Loved the outdoor fire pit as well. Felt like camping, but could go inside and sleep in a comfy bed at the end of the night! The house is very charming and comfortable and just the right size. We will definitely be returning! Out back you have a great view of the mountains and hill sides. The deer that roam and the sounds of the birds adds to the natural beauty of the country. Luray Caverns, grocery store and a few fast food shops are located minutes from the cabin. Which reduces the amount of time spent traveling to your desired destination. Thanks for the suggestion on the lights outside, usually guests use the lights in tub or the solar lights and porch lights outside and haven't had a problem.

Wonderful anniversary! Posted: Jul 28, 2020 We spent the weekend at Country Time Cabin for our anniversary. It was a very relaxing weekend. The cabin was cozy and stocked well. Loved the jacuzzi and hot tub. The only thing I can recommend is listing that we need to provide our own firewood for the pit. We didn’t get to use it because all we found was an expensive and small bag of hot sticks at the store that wouldn’t have lasted long enough. What a great find! Posted: Nov 27, 2018 I was tasked with finding a location for a short break for a group of ten whilst we were in Norfolk with work. Having found the Luray Country Cabins website via search engine, I found the process of booking to be simple and straightforward with plenty of detail available. The customer service when I had to ask a couple of questions by e-mail was swift and very courteous. This same efficiency extended to the payment process and the provision of directions and pre check-in information. When we arrived at the Cabin, everything was perfectly presented, with helpful instructions to ensure we settled in quickly. The cabin itself is spacious, homely and warm, and it accommodated what was eventually nine adults very well indeed. Plenty of appliances, crockery etc, and wifi for those less used to the country life! We all thoroughly enjoyed, and returned to Norfolk relaxed and more than a little sad to be leaving. Country Cabin Posted: Nov 2, 2018 Very nice location, close to Luray Caverns, fishing sites, Skyline Drive. We enjoyed hiking in Shenandoah and the whirlpool tub afterwards. Well equipped cabin. Great screened porch in back for warmer weather. There was firewood available for the outside firepit which was convenient. Only downside was the upstairs got unbearably hot when the gas fireplace was used, so you just have to use regular heat if anyone's upstairs. Also, we couldn't find any ice cube trays, so no ice available. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Manager Response: A little confused about no ice trays. The frig has an ice maker. Sorry about the upstairs getting too hot with the fireplace but the heat does rise. Glad you were pleased with the location.

The oven failed to work the first night, but a replacement was installed the next morning and worked great. The owners were very responsive. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and the cabin feels secluded and has beautiful views. There is plenty of outdoor seating and great front porch. Deer Country Log Cabin Posted: Jul 30, 2018 The cabin was beautiful and immaculately clean. We knew it would be nice but the cabin far exceeded our expectations! My husband and I along with two other couples stayed there for 2 nights as we were in Luray for a wedding. Many of those we spoke to at the wedding were very unhappy with the hotel where they stayed. Some people had rented cabins, which they say were beautiful but you almost needed 4WD to get up the steep driveways. Our cabin was easy-in, easy-out and located a few minutes from downtown Luray and a couple minutes from Luray Caverns: a perfect location! And on Friday night we grilled steaks and enjoyed a delicious dinner on the beautiful screened in porch. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the area. You will not be disappointed! Charming, woodsy, and comfy Posted: Jun 14, 2018 This sweet little cottage is perfectly located near Luray and makes a delightful little "headquarters" for exploring the Shenandoah. We enjoyed the rural feel, the back yard, the big oaks, and the jacuzzi. Nice kitchen, comfy beds, and a warm feeling. Thanks for the hospitality.

Great Cabin Experience Posted: Apr 4, 2018 We booked the Bear Oaks cabin online for a quick spring break excursion to Luray. The online booking and payment was easy, and Ron & Pam (the owners) provided us with detailed check-in, check-out procedures as well as directions to the cabin, which does not show up on Google Maps. We had no problem finding the place. The coded door lock was a great touch - no having to coordinate key drop off or pick up! The cabin was immaculate when we showed up, and had everything we needed. The open space in the backyard was fantastic for our kids and dogs to run around. And being 5 minutes from town and the caverns was a huge bonus. All-in-all, an excellent experience. President’s day weekend Posted: Feb 24, 2018 We absolutely LOVED our stay in this cabin. My fiancé and I try to make it to a cabin in Luray a few times in the winter for a quick get away. This was our favorite cabin so far and will 100% be staying again. The hot tub was lovely both in the morning to relax and at night before bed. The cabin itself is quaint and clean. Charming cabin! Posted: Oct 28, 2017 The Country Time Cabin is located in a wooded space overlooking green fields. It's very close to a supermarket and other amenities. The cabin is spacious and comfortable with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The cabin is relatively new construction and it was very clean. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay! Great experience while staying at Country Time Cabin Posted: Oct 9, 2017 We felt like we were away from home but once we got to the cabin, it felt like home away from home. I really loved the wood work around the cabin, we had 2 kids and they both felt at home instantly and there was plenty of room for 6 adults in the cabin. We also enjoyed fire outside as well as the barbeque spot. It was a beautiful experience from all of us and I would definitely recommend the cabins to my friends and family and would love to come back to the cabin over and cover again. Thank you. Rustic but oh so comfortable! Posted: Oct 6, 2017 This was our second stay at Bear Oaks Cabin. We had such a wonderfully relaxing time last year, we didn't look anywhere else for our stay this year. The added hot tub was a special treat. When you walk outside and hear nothing but natur, it's hard to imagine being so close to many activities, shops and restaurants. Luray Caverns, the Luray Zoo and Gennaro's Italian Restaurant are a must when visiting here! They are all within five miles of the cabin. We are already looking forward to our next trip! ? Spring break Posted: Apr 20, 2017 We decided to book this cabin for a few days over spring break and we just loved it! The cabin looks brand new and was perfect for our stay. The full kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were very comfortable. Our dog loved to lie in front of the fire when we had the fireplace on. The cabin was super clean, organized and was stocked with everything except food! In addition, it was a quick, convenient drive to all sights and events in Luray. The kids were glad to have TV and Wi-Fi....but we spent a lot of time just hanging out enjoying the fire pit and beautiful views! I totally recommend a stay at this cabin! Great cabin! Posted: Oct 7, 2016 We really enjoyed our stay in the County Time Cabin! The loft bedroom was great and the whole cabin felt very cozy. I really loved sitting on the front porch swing, drinking coffee and enjoying the morning. I didn't realize how close the other cabin was next door, but for the most part we weren't aware of our neighbors. My only suggestion is for the kitchen to be supplied with more pans and pots for cooking, and the toaster oven wasn't working right and was filled with crumbs from previous use. LAST MINUTE Posted: Oct 7, 2016 I had a last minute conflict with my RV Site that could not be accessed due to weather. I sent out several queries and the folks at Deer Country responded almost immediately. This cabin is amazing, I have stayed at many cabins in Luray and for the money you pay this one is well worth it. Although not on the water you are less than five minutes to the boat launch. We also loved the screen porch since it was so hot and buggy. The cabin was perfectly located near Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns and the river. We could have used a few more supplies than were provided such as a few more trash bags would have been nice. We also did not have bar soap in our bathroom. Loved having a washer and dryer since we brought our sheets and washed them before we left. However the positives were much more than any negatives. After a long flight from Edinburgh it was a real treat to turn up at Deer Country Log Cabin. Nicely furnished and exactly how you would imagine a Virginian homestead to be. Would we return? Most definitely if we ever get the chance to visit Virginia again - Deer Country Log Cabin would be our first choice for accommodation. Highly recommended for anyone that wants a nice comfotable log cabin home in a quiet location but close to all the amenities that the Shenandoah Valley has to offer. Nice people to rent from as well. Lovely cabin! Posted: Apr 1, 2016 We really had a great time! The cabin has a full kitchen, even with salt and pepper. We made our Easter dinner and enjoyed it on the 2 picnic tables on the back porch. The jacuzzi tub was great. We loved being 5 minutes from Luray Cabins and Flotzies Ice Cream. It took us about 20 minutes to get to Skyline Drive for our hikes. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would love to stay there again. Birthday Celebration Posted: Feb 12, 2016 This is the 3rd time staying in these cabins. There is a reason that I keep returning! The cabins are well-kept, fully stocked, and just plain comfortable to be in. It allows us to go away for the weekend and just enjoy ourselves. There is a lot to do semi-near the cabin. Wineries, breweries, caverns, places to eat are all within your grasp! They even allow pets which is perfect for people who do not have somebody to watch their fur babies!
