The perfect winter weekend! Posted: Dec 26, 2022 Our family gathered at Lay by the Bay to celebrate Christmas and had the most wonderful, cozy time. The weather was festive outside while we ate, played games, watched movies. The kitchen had everything imaginable, beds and linens were top notch. We’re looking forward to scheduling for next year!

This time, my emails were found later in the owner's "spam folder" and once we figured that out, the communication was seamless. I'd recommend the property manager to check in on guest after they check in. Also, guests may follow up to their email with a phone call or text - owner very responsive! We had a nice time and look forward to coming back.

Enjoyable long weekend with friends Posted: Oct 3, 2020 We got a few friends together to celebrate a 60th birthday. We really enjoyed the house, sharing time and meals together. It would have been nice to have been able to use the awning in the afternoons when the sun was hot but none the less we really enjoyed our time there as well as hanging out in Saugutuck.

Wonderful stay Posted: Jul 27, 2018 The Lay by the Bay accommodations made for an exceptional week in Saugatuck. The house was exactly as described with no surprises. The kitchen is beyond well equipped with nice cookware. Nice appliances. The linens throughout the home were nice quality. The television with surround sound made for an enjoyable experience whether it be the ballgame or just some background music during family game nights. Another great feature is the shuffleboard table. We had blind draw family tournaments. The exterior of the home could use some attention. The planter boxes are empty. The balcony canopy had an active bird nest and most disturbing was the number of spider webs (old and new) and bug guts over all of the windows. Those things are a part of summer at the lake, but it could use a quick power washing and window clean. Again, the whole experience was ideal. Great property. Highly recommend.

Posted: Jul 1, 2018 Amazing house with tons of room. We had a nice size crowd for a birthday celebration. We all had our own rooms and plenty of room to move around, eat and relax. The house is very clean, well kept with a very spacious kitchen. The house is centrally located with lots to do in walking distance. Definitely a place to check out!

Great get away Posted: Sep 13, 2017 Our group travels every year to find a new, fun place to explore. We have finally found one that we want to revisit. This house is not only in a great location, but it is great for multiple couples. The house is very clean and is one of the most unique designs we have seen. The kitchen is well stocked with top end appliances. The furniture and beds are very comfortable. The back porch was very nice with a great view of the lake. The house is within a quarter mile walk to the downtown area. The location is optimal for people that want to explore the downtown Saugatuck area. The house is also close to the bridge to Douglas which allows for a quick drive to the area of Oval Beach and Douglas. Our contact with the rental company was very responsive to our basic questions. We really appreciated that. All in all, this was one of the best experiences we have had with a rental home and location. We will absolutely be back. Thanks for helping us have a great weekend.

The home is beautiful, well appointed, high quality furniture, appliances, clean, with a great location to boot. If you're looking for a trip to Saugatuck, we highly recommend this home.

Lay by the Bay August 16-23 Posted: Aug 28, 2015 This is our second year renting this house. We love it. My only negative is that they need some umbrellas on the deck. We were told we could not use the awning and there are 2 places for umbrellas to go. They deck is steel or aluminum and it gets very very hot. Umbrella would be helpful in the hot sun. Otherwise we LOVE the place. We just need a bigger place for next year. Family growing....
