Filled with fabulous Alaskan art, a full kitchen, extremely comfortable beds, walking distance to town and the tidepools for kids to explore. Our absolutely favorite part is the reading room with its windows, big overstuffed comfy chairs, books, plants, and toys. Had to be pried out of it. Highly recommend this exceptional place to stay in Haines.

Blue Heron: Lovely Family Home Posted: May 29, 2023 Blue Heron is a very comfortable home with amazing views. My family of 5 had a great time gathering in living room to share meals and stories. Kitchen is well stocked to make meals. Lots of board games and books available to use. The home is close to town easily walkable to main street. The home is on a large lot so there was no noise from neighbours. Well worth the value. The host is very welcoming and responded quickly to questions. Would stay there again.

Home away from home Posted: Apr 16, 2023 We had an incredible stay at the Blue Heron House. There were three generations of us on this trip~ grandpa, my husband and I and our 2 boys (7 and 3). We all thoroughly enjoyed the views, comfort, and conveniences of the home. The bald Eagle watching from the back deck was top notch. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting Haines.

A wonderful relaxing modern home with everything you need to feel at home plus an incredible beach front view of mountains and the ocean will make you happy to just to unwind on the deck and breathe the fresh air. Convenient to local shops, the Fort and all of Main Street you will not believe the amazing scenery at every turn, and if you have a clear night star gazing around the fire pit is not to be missed! We love this place and can't wait to return!!

Blue Heron House: Spacious house with great views Posted: May 26, 2022 The house was clean and spacious. The views of the inlet, the harbor, and the mountains were gorgeous. We were lucky enough to see whales right in the harbor throughout our stay from the back deck of the house. The check in and out procedure was easy and Randa, the property manager, was easy to deal with and responsive. The house was stocked with everything we needed like cookware, towels, comfortable beds, washer/dryee, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, toys for the kids, etc. The house is right on the edge of town so access to town is fast and easy. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.

Great Time in AK Posted: Mar 24, 2020 We stayed at the Blue Heron House for our Heli ski trip to AK. We used Seaba Heli and this house was very close to the lodge and super convenient. The owner showed up to say hi as soon as we arrived, she was so friendly and just wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was perfect, clean, and comfy. The views were absolutely unreal and we got an amazing look at the Northern Lights. I would highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Haines.

Blue Heron Posted: Nov 13, 2019 We enjoyed our stay, as we have in the past. It is a very nice, and relaxing place. The only thing I did not like was that the sheets were heavily perfumed. I have a scent allergy, and I don't really remember that from last time I was there. I am disappointed anywhere I go that uses scented laundry detergent, so my one recommendation would be to switch exclusively to a scent free detergent, for the sake of guests with sensitivities! I woke up with a sore throat each day after sleeping on scented sheets. Other than that, our stay was great. I look forward to my next visit to the Blue Heron House. The lawn was great for soaking in the views and there were games available to use. The great room had plenty room and the kitchen had every dish and cooking utensil imaginable. Laundry was also on site. Close to town for restaurants and shopping. Cozy reading room with tons of books.

Plush modern spacious comfortable home on a beautiful waterfront property with spectacular views of open waterways, mountain ranges, the harbor and town of Haines. This is the perfect location and I greatly enjoyed staying in this wonderful home. This is the Alaskan experience you really want. Watching the sunset into the mountains, building a fire in the pit, and star gazing late into the night. Morning coffee in the sunroom and walk to town. A hike or some fishing or golf. Blue Heron and Haines is the best!!

Blue Heron House: Amazing view! Posted: Aug 16, 2017 We stayed here for 2 weeks in August. Everything we needed for a family of six was here. Laundry and wi-fi worked great. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor games and most of all the firepit. The water views are fabulous and the fact that the house is between two roads does not detract from that. There is enough vegetation in the back to keep the road from view. The location is excellent , you can walk to downtown and it is still a short drive to the ferry terminal and Chilkoot Lake area (where we saw lots of bears!) One down side is that there are no screens on the back doors. Flys were an extreme nuisance and it would have been nice to be able to keep them out while enjoying the beautiful Alaskan weather. Also, the hot water kept running out when we showered, so we had to space out the showers because of this. Overall, I would recommend staying at this great location to enjoy the beautiful views that Blue Heron has to offer.

Blue Heron House: Beautiful location, great for families Posted: Jul 11, 2017 We greatly enjoyed two vacations at the Blue Heron House this year with our families. The house is perfect for groups with kids as well as grandparents and has a spectacular view of the mountains and ocean. There were only a few little things missing: condiments (oil, vinegar, etc) and wood cutting boards for cooking in the big lovely kitchen, the darker drapes for sleeping (we brought our own on the second trip) and a chair for removing one's shoes in the entrance-way. Blue Heron: Beautiful home! Amazing view Posted: Oct 1, 2016 Beautiful home! Couldn't ask for more. Much nicer than fishing cabins! At the time of booking I wasn't aware that it was someone's personal home that I was using while they lived temporarily on site (family pictures, zip tied cabinets and closets, etc). Also I didn't realize the home isn't directly on the water (a road separates). The owner makes use of the garage attached to the house. However... We had zero issues with the owner and the place was amazingly clean and beautiful!! Beautifully decorated and modern. And the view was fantastic! Satellite internet (no streaming) and DVD player (no TV channels) but who needs that when in Haines? Kitchen stocked with spices and everything you could need. Home is just on the edge of town. Thank you for a perfect stay!

The Blue Heron House is beautiful, spacious, has a wonderful kitchen, a jetted hot tub for two, fire pit and fire wood, a sunny reading nook, laundry with state of the art machines and is within walking distance of downtown shopping, eating and the new brewery! Not to mention killer ocean views. We had endless entertainment watching the ships go by.

LOVED staying at the Blue Heron House in Haines AK Posted: Aug 3, 2016 While Haines, Alaska is a small quaint town located on the inside passage, Blue Heron House is an amazing place to stay with all the amenities and million dollar view. I have vacationed in Haines for years however this was by far the nicest accommodation. It is close to main street but far enough away to feel you are in the wilderness. Very picturesque, especially with the wild flowers and wild life! Blue Heron House is large and beautifully decorated home. with very comfortable beds and the artwork on the walls is amazing, done by local artists. In the morning, you can sit on the deck facing the water and sip your coffee, exercise/yoga or just relax and enjoy the view. The gourmet kitchen is so clean and everything you need is there. In the evening, you can have an outdoor fire, or if it is too cold outside, use the indoor fireplace. Blue Heron House in Haines Alaska is THE place to stay when visiting Haines.

Amazing view Posted: Jul 14, 2016 The Blue Heron was amazing and was better than expected. It was tidy and there were clear instructions for things like wifi and expectations. A few nice extras too - the badminton net was set up and a beanbag game was put out, which we definitely took advantage of, and a few beer glasses were getting frosty in the freezer for a post-travel beer. :) all-in-all an amazing time with an amazing view and accommodations. I couldn't recommend it more.

Absolutely stunning property! Posted: Jul 7, 2016 ?Blue Heron has quite possibly the most majestic vistas I have seen! Bald eagles flying back and forth, incredible views of the water and mountains. Walking distance to town and short drives to many incredible hikes and nature viewing areas. House was lovely and clean and well maintained. The fire pit is an amazing place to unwind after a long day and the amenities (volley ball, corn hole, etc) were a lot of fun. Highly highly recommended! A+!
