Viking Cove: Best host ever! Posted: Sep 29, 2022 I have always loved Haines and every time I go, I meet wonderful people. Viking cove was simply perfect for a group our size (11). The view, the beach, the fire pit, and the accommodations were all perfect. However, the highlight for us was our host and his family who made us feel welcome, were great tour guides, and gave us a uniquely Alaska experience. Thanks!

Viking Cove - Moose Posted: Aug 18, 2022 The Good -Stunning property, quiet, secluded with amazing ocean, glacier and mountain views -We saw tons of wildlife during our stay; Harbor Porpoises, Sea Otters, Salmon jumping and tons of birds -Lots of activities available for guests (sauna, games room, make shift gym, canoes, crab pots, fire pit, axe throwing) -Host was very friendly and accommodating. He showed us around the property and chatted with us about his boat building project and glass blowing studio. The Not So Good: - The online description of Moose should be updated. There is a small fridge, keurig and microwave which we were not aware of until arriving. - There was also a BBQ that could be used by guests

Viking Cove Chinook: Beautiful setting, nice accommodations. Posted: Aug 8, 2022 We stayed at Viking Cove Chinook as a base of operations for work. The management squeezed us in on short notice and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. The compound was beautifully set on a small private peninsula in the Lynn Canal. There were a number of nice amenities like a sauna, bonfire pit, and exercise room. The apartments were roomy and well kept. Unfortunately no stove, super small fridge, and 8 miles by narrow back road to town made meals a challenge. WiFi was pretty spotty, which made work tasks a bit difficult. But if you are looking for a quite, scenic place to duck out and relax, it’s definitely worth a stay.
