Great little place Posted: Aug 18, 2023 We spent a weekend here just my husband and I and had a wonderful time. The pictures on the website were taken before a more recent update. It’s very nice. It just looks different than the pictures. It’s very very clean, comfortable and perfect distance from downtown Saugatuck to bike or walk. We will definitely be back.

The Hummingbird Cottage, Saugatuck, MI Posted: Jul 20, 2023 The cottage was absolutely ideal for us as our friends were almost across the street in the their condo. I truly didn't realize that it was a 2 storey unit, possibly from the photos, but our major challenge was that the bathroom and bedroom were a floor apart. We are 83 and 76 and without going into detail, it was a bit stressful for us. The only other challenge was just the one closet which was also downstairs. We found the cottage immaculate, the bedroom, AC very satisfactory and the kitchen had all the appliances, etc. that we needed. Thank you. We will be back to a one floor unit going forward. This lake town should be the envy of any lake town. We really enjoyed ourselves and your accommodation. Mary and Dick Canada. I just relook at your site. It explains everything very well. It was completely my mistake for not noticing the floor plan. I think I was just so excited that you were able to accommodate us. Please resubmit my note. Again it was a pleasure!

Great Stay Posted: Apr 16, 2023 We enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Cottage. The location was great, within walking distance to downtown Saugatuck. The amenities were high end which made the cottage comfortable. If you are looking for outdoor space there wasn’t any for this until so maybe look into other cottages this host offers.

Great little find, great location ... Posted: Oct 19, 2022 We had a fabulous time in Saugatuck. The Hummingbird was ideal for 2 people. A cosy space and ideal location. 10 minute walk onto the main shopping street or 2 minutes drive. Peaceful area and street in the evening. Felt safe too. Saugatuck has so much to offer and is stunning in so many ways. Great location for exploring the area although loads to do within 10 minutes too. Good access to the Interstate and main highways. The house is well cared for and clean and tidy. Couple of downsides ... Bathroom and toilet downstairs, adjacent to the kitchen whilst the bedroom and lounge is upstairs. No outside space to use which we imagine would be a bonus in the summer months, we were Autumn (Fall) visitors from the UK. No AC but fans provided. We would definitely return to the area and Hummingbird if there was only the two of us.

Wonderful place! Posted: Jan 25, 2020 This is a fun, little space from which to launch your Saugatuck adventure. Super clean, nicely decorated, and has most of what you'd need for making basic meals. The queen-size bed was a bit too soft for our backs, but was not a real problem. In the winter, guests should be prepared to shovel their own snow. A couple of wine glasses and a tea kettle in the kitchen would be helpful additions. But we used the coffee cups for our wine and did just fine! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Hummingbird Posted: Jan 11, 2019 This is the second time we stayed. The place is clean and comfortable for 2 people. We could hear the guests downstairs, fortunately they quieted down by 10 PM or so. The cleaning fee is a bit steep considering all that guests are required to do before leaving. Because the Hummingbird is in a great location we would stay there again.

Hummingbird Labor Day 2018 Posted: Sep 11, 2018 My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hummingbird over Labor Day weekend as a getaway. The Hummingbird is a charming place to stay in Saugatuck. Its location is perfect and located with an easy walk to either downtown Saugatuck or Douglas. We liked the layout and amenities of the cottage. It was just the right size for 2 people. The cottage was clean and tidy. However, we felt the bed spread and the leather sofa where a little tired looking. Clean, but a little tired. It also would have been nice to have a blanket for the bed as it only had the bed spread. We had a great time in Saugatuck and Douglas and staying at the Hummingbird worked out great for us. We would stay there again. Brett

Great Weekend Getaway Posted: Jul 27, 2018 We stayed from Thursday to Sunday and loved the town. The location of this home relative to downtown Saugatuck is perfect. Although it rained 2 of the days, it did not slow us down at all really. We tried some very nice restaurants and tried to walk there when it wasn't raining. The only suggestion would be to leave early to find parking if you do drive. Great trip!

Nice stay Posted: Jul 5, 2018 Room provided what we were looking for: within walking distance of the shops/restaurants in Saugatauk; clean; quiet/privacy. Kitchen was very nice even though we did not use anything except the frig. A bit odd having living room and bedroom upstairs but we were only there to sleep. Negatives: Bathroom needs another towel bar. Ditch the picture and put up a towel bar. Bedroom definitely needs somewhere to hang clothes. Using the stair railing wasn't too cool. A small closet could easily be put in. We didn't need it, but having a door between bedroom and living room would be useful if someone stays up watching TV and the other goes to bed. Also, a blanket would be nice - some folks don't do well with AC. All in all we had a nice stay.
