Swan View: Beautiful Serene Cabin

Posted: Sep 26, 2019

On my little vacation to Alaska this place stands out as my favorite memory. The cabin is tucked away on a quiet lake with amazing views. The cabin itself was rustic and charming. It has all the basic amenities needed and is very comfortable. I very much enjoyed my stay!

Swan View Cabin: Best in Haines Area!

Posted: Sep 25, 2019

If you want to be away from town & close to more remote salmon fishing spots, this is the place for you... & If the run is no good, you can catch trout right off the dock at swan haven. Lots of great views, lots to explore back country in the area. Take a drive to kelsaw bridge! 33 Mile road house is 10 minutes drive & their foods great; added bonus it's cheaper food than anywhere in town by far! They even have a canoe to explore mosquito lake. They always book fast on the weekends, so plan ahead!

Photos Do NOT Do Swan View Cabin Justice

The extremely well built and newly remodeled cabin #1on Mosquito Lake provided a perfect base to photograph eagles and bears near Haines. The stairway to the Lake is an engineering feat and watching the swans could not be more peaceful. I am sure the canoe is huge asset to most people. Unfortunately we were inept and tipped it, dumping us and the cameras into the lake. The proprietor, Edie Granger Ordonez, washed our muddy clothes and her daughter came to our rescue by loaning us her personal Nikon. The single cabin was private and quiet and well stocked with books including Joe Ordonez's "Where Eagles Gather." We would have been comfortable in the cabin for many more days.

It was a wonderful place that we would recommend, the jetty to the lake and the canoe are to be highlighted.

More spacious than expected - everything you need and only 30 miles from Haines. Got good use of the canoe, and stunning views across the lake.

We LOVED this little cabin by the lake. Joe was so kind and even came to tell us when the moose was out. The views from the deck are stunning and paddling around on the canoe was a highlight. We would love to come back here.

Amazing little cabin with spectacular views

We stayed at the swan view cabin for our visit to Haines and couldn’t be happier! Joe was extremely accommodating and the cabin was clean, comfy and couldn’t beat the views! We took the canoe for a paddle around the lake and enjoyed the wildlife viewing. Can’t wait to come back!

The cabin was perfect. It's location was close to Haines and our ferry connection. We were close enough to Haines we had time to look around the town and even take a hike prior to getting in line for the ferry. We really enjoyed the deck, the view of the lake, and swans. We're so happy we made the cabin our stop for the evening.

War für zwei Nächte dort. Sehr komfortable Cabin, alles da was man braucht. Liegt traumhaft abseits, mitten im Wald an einem kleinen See. Inkl. Schwänen mit Küken und Elchen, die durch den See schwimmen.(Stayed there for two nights. Very comfortable cabin, everything there what you need. Lies fantastically off, in the middle of the forest on a small lake. Incl. Swans with chicks and moose swimming by the lake.)

Amazing REALLY away from it all!

We arrived in Haines and really had no idea where we were going. It was a snowy day and we drove out the 27 miles to the cabin thinking we would drive back to Haines that evening. Not so . We got to the cabin unloaded our bags and went to to the 33 mile Roadhouse for dinner. After dinner went back and stayed in. What a beautiful spot! The cabin had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The owner was super nice and helpful with things to do. We missed the Northern Lights by a few days but if it were clear it would be the perfect spot! I would highly recommend this to someone wanting to get away from it all. No cell service and the wifi is spotty OH and no TV. We loved it!

We stayed for 2 nights. The location is nice and right on the lake. At night you feel completely alone. Super quiet, except for the noisy swans. We enjoyed our stay. Everything you need is available, but it is old. For us it was no problem, but to be honest. It could use some small improvements. Overall we really recommend the cabin and it’s location if you’re in to nature, peace and quiet. If you like tourists and crowds you should stay in town, especially in the summer season.

What an amazing place! Do yourself a favour and stay for more than one night like we did. The cabin is cozy, comfy, clean, and the area is amazing. We got to relax and wish we had more than a single night to enjoy the peace.

We enjoyed our stay in the charming cabin. We had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. It was nice to take the canoe out for a ride around the lake! If you’re in the area, would definitely recommend this space!

The peaceful location, cozy interior and warm shower were just what we needed after a long race at the Kluane Chilkat Internaltional Bike Relay. Approximately 30 minutes out of town, this place was organized, clean and easy to find.

No hot water, but was able to send email and owner rectified, as heater was turned off. Shower's hot/cold knobs were backwards. Very rustic! Cabin smelled musty, but was clean. Bottom step on stairs down to lake was broke. View was beautiful! Saw a cow moose and calf!

Swan View Cabin #1: Quiet little water front cabin.

The cabin was perfect, exactly what I expected and wanted. My only regret is I didn't give myself enough time to hang out there. I spent one night there on a work trip. Next time I will know better and stay longer.

Small and cozy cabin

The cabin is very nice and cozy. It has a great view over Mosquito Lake and we really enjoyed our stay there, and although it was only for one night we would've liked to stay there for much longer.

Easter Weekend at Swan View Cabin #1

Posted: Apr 5, 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swan View Cabin #1! The location was perfect - a quiet and peaceful setting with a phenomenal view, and not too far from Haines. We enjoyed the coziness of the cabin. It had everything we needed - comfy bed, fully stocked kitchen and (bonus!) indoor plumbing including a shower! We had a great weekend exploring the area and hope to go back again soon!

Swan View Cabin: All I needed

There were mountains, a lake, a kitchen and close to where I needed to work. Joe and the family are very welcoming.
