Alaska Guardhouse: A great place to stay Posted: May 30, 2023 I spent two days at the Guard House while transitioning to Haines and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is well appointed and rooms were just exquisite. It lies within the Ft. Seward complex which is right off the Lynn Canal and has awesome views of both the harbor and water. Phyllis and Joann were awesome hosts, they were very warm and welcoming and I felt very at home. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Guard House when visiting Haines.
