It would be great if square could be added to payment options, like paypal is....

Thanks casdazh. Stripe is another one people are starting to request more. The problem is that integrating with payment processors is very expensive, time-consuming, and resource-intensive, not just to build out the initial integration, but also to maintain it in perpetuity.

Because of that, Bookerville has elected to keep to a fairly small number of very well-known processors: PayPal, Authorize.net, and now our newest gateway: BridgePay.

The biggest problem I see with the popular "un-merchant accounts" like PayPal, Stripe, Square, is that they are very expensive (for you, the merchant). Most of the people we talk to about these end up switching to the Lynnbrook Group (and use either Authorize.net or the new BridgePay gateway) because it's better, and cheaper.

Curious: have you looked into the Lynnbrook Group yet?

My 2 cents here... I've been using Lynnbrook since we started this adventure 3 years ago. It has been pretty smooth for us and while pricing varies based on volumes and you need to consider the monthly recurring fees for the gateway in the total charges I still believe the Square and Stripe and Paypal options are more expensive. If rentals is just a casual, now and again type of activity for you then managing a manual payment through Stripe or Square should be doable. If you are doing a number of transactions a month or they are for larger dollar amounts I would encourage you to check out a true merchant account either with your bank using an authorize.net gateway or with Lynnbrook.
